Pale Blue Dot is part of a family portrait of the solar system captured by NASA's Voyager 1 spacecraft on February 14, 1990, from about 3.7 billion miles (6 billion kilometers) away. In the image, Earth appears as a tiny speck suspended in a sunbeam.

The photo became widely known for its reminder of how small and interconnected humanity is on a cosmic scale. It continues to inspire science communication, environmental thinking, and global perspective decades after it was taken.
